The corda — our belt system

In Capoeira the belt is a corda: a dyed rope cord. Team Capoeira Bamba uses the corda to recognise a student's knowledge and progression, and cords are awarded at the Batizado — an annual celebration of Brazilian culture with music, dance and the roda. Capoeira Bamba holds a Batizado once every year.

AGES 5–15

Kids cords

Kids progress through thirteen levels. A ponta (tip) of colour is added to the raw cord as they advance.
